The road and traffic authorities lately have launched programs in secondary schools to bring awareness to students regarding the risks involved in irresponsible driving. The authorities are doing re-enactments of driving accidents involving young drivers. This is for the youth to realize the responsibility that goes with the driving license. As a parent, I am in favor of these programs and much stricter policies and rules in issuing license to young drivers.

Most young drivers were not enrolled in driving schools for their lessons prior to their application for license. The driving lessons cost is the primary reason why some parents prefer to teach their kids how to drive rather than enroll them to a reputable driving school. Their concern is merely to have their kids pass the driving test, which makes safe driving not a top priority.

My friend Tom got his license a couple of months ago. He also did not enroll in a driving school. He said it is too expensive. He just asked his friend to teach him how to drive. Unfortunately, after two weeks of having his license, he had a very bad accident that ruined his car badly. Lucky, he was not hurt.

One of the advantages of enrolling in a driving school is that new drivers are trained to be safe drivers. The driving lessons cost is really worth the training you will get.

Professional driving instructors are really good in teaching young drivers. They have the professional teaching approach required to mold an efficient driver.

I was watching the news last week and have seen some interviews to parents of young drivers who died in car accidents. Their stories are heart-breaking. Losing their kids at the very young age and listening to their terrifying experiences as parents made me really cry. I cannot imagine how much pain those parents have in their hearts and how they can cope up living with the shadow of the bitter experience of losing their kids.

Despite the fact that driving lessons cost a lot nowadays, I will make sure that when it is time for my daughter to apply for a driving license I will enroll her with the driving school where I was trained. The driving lessons cost that I needed to pay when I was a student driver was all worth it. I can confidently say that I was well trained and that I am an efficient and safe driver on the road.
