Transport Opinions

My uncle had been working for a company as their hgv driver for many years. He would basically drive to work in the morning and pick up what ever he had to be transporting that day and then leave and drive straight to where he needed to drop off the goods. He found his job extremely boring doing the same thing day in and day out and sometimes he would have to go days without sleep as the company would call him up in the night and ask if he was available to do a delivery. He decided that enough was enough and told them that he was quitting at the end of the week.

On the Friday he woke up early and started up the motor so that it was warm for when he got in to go to work. He had planned on an easy day but the company had different ideas and had him working non stop just to be awkward. At the end of the day he got home and all of a sudden he said that he wanted to start giving cheap driving lessons. I'm not sure where the idea came from but we all knew that he didn't like his current job so if it would make him happy then we were all willing to support him in whatever it was that he wanted to do.

I had never really imagined him giving cheap driving lessons as it couldn't have been any further from the sort of work that he had always done. He had given lessons before in his hgv but this was totally different. None of the family knew it but my uncle had saved up a lot of money in the bank and came home one day with a load of paperwork. When asked what it was he said that he had bought a fleet of vehicles and a building as from where to house the cheap driving lessons.

The cheap driving lessons never really kicked off the way that my uncle had planned. It was very slow and at many times my uncle had had serious thoughts of quitting the business and going back to being an hgv driver. All the family pulled together to help advertise the company in every possible place and he is now doing really well and seems to enjoy it a lot more now than he had originally.
