Two years ago, I took up a driving lessons course. I was the right age to start driving, so I gave it my best shot. I signed up for a driving school in the Tawa region. I met my instructor a day after I signed up. There weren't much students attending the driving school. I thought this would be an advantage for me because my instructor could focus on myself more.

When I first attended my driving school, I was really nervous. My teeth were biting each other rapidly. There was a shiver down my spine and my knees refused to stop their rapid shaking. When my parents and I went to the driving school, we were impressed. All the testing vehicles were neat and clean, and all the obstacles had soft padding in case of an accident.

My instructor showed us around the school, taking us to see the test vehicles and to see the driving lessons course. He also showed us where we get taught all the rules of safe driving. At the first day of school, I wasn't nervous at all. I had taken the bus to school, but when I pass I wouldn't have to. My instructor started off the class with a simple plan of a Toyota Corolla 1995 E60. He taught us the names of all the parts and the way they work. I didn't know how this was a part of driving rules, but I memorised it anyway because I knew it would be in the theory test in the end.

When the day ended I saw an odd motorcycle. I asked my instructor what it was. He said that it was called a moped. A type of motorcycle that has pedals and requires little licence requirements.

The second day of driving school was exciting. My instructor took us to the driving lessons course and told us what to do at each corner and traffic light. He also taught us the different meanings of the different traffic lights. The way my instructor looked at the driving lessons course was quite calm. But my face was excited when I looked at the course. I was excited because in the future I would have to drive on that course.

When the theory test came, I answered all the questions. I successfully drove around the driving course. When my instructor mailed us the results of my driving, I was nervous. I had never been that nervous since I had to do a performance solo in front of one thousand viewers. My face lit up when I saw the stamp on top of my results. I also found that I answered all of the theory test questions correctly. My parents bought me a car and I slowly made my way into reality and society.
